EXPERT WITNESS, CAMDEN PARK, KENT

CAMDEN PARK, TUNBRIDGE WELLS, KENT

LHLA was appointed as Expert Witness on Landscape Matters at the Royal Courts of Justice.

Camden Park is a Decimus Burton-inspired residential park in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. LHLA prepared a Townscape and Visual Assessment on behalf of the local Residents’ Association objecting to the redevelopment of part of the Park which is a Conservation Area, an Arcadian Area and an Area of Special Landscape Importance.

The case subsequently went to the Upper Tribunal (Lands Chamber) to discharge a restrictive covenant, UTLC reference LP/30/2019. The appeal was dismissed and our client won their case.

Our Residents’ Association asked Louise for help in putting together a case to oppose plans for development in our private park. Louise did a great job in assessing the current situation and the potential impact of the proposed building. She produced an excellent report - ‘Townscape and Visual Impact Assessment’ which we submitted to the Council.

Louise’s work for us was exceptionally creative and professional. It was exactly what we wanted and we have no doubt that the detailed but accessible content of the report made the planners think again about the details of the proposal.
